Cobb County Locations

Cobb County is where Wink & Wag was born — and where so many of my favorite sessions have taken place. From peaceful wooded trails in Marietta to charming neighborhood parks in Kennesaw and Smyrna, Cobb is packed with pet-friendly gems that make for stunning, low-stress backdrops. These locations are perfect for everything from playful puppy portraits to gentle, end-of-life sessions. Whether your pet thrives in quiet, shady spots or open fields made for zoomies, there’s a place in Cobb that will feel just right. All locations on this list are leash-friendly, well-scouted, and chosen with your pet’s comfort (and camera angles!) in mind.

📍Marietta

🐾 Cochran Shoals Trail

Address: 1956-2068 Eugene Gunby Rd, Marietta, GA 30067

Peanut at Cochran Shoals

This trail spans a 1-2 hour loop next to the Chattahooche River if you feel up for some exercise after the shoot. For our purposes, we only need to walk a mere 5-10 minutes in to hit one of the multiple picnic benches that overlook the river.

Parking can be hit or miss at this location, where Saturdays are definitely a struggle. The walking trail itself is quite wide, allowing us to bypass most people and other dogs. The downside is that this trail is frequently busy, even on weekdays. However, as seen by the photo of my Peanut, we can make some good photos happen.

🐾 Sope Creek Trailhead

Address: 3726 Paper Mill Rd SE, Marietta, GA 30067

Odin at Sope Creek

This location has multiple trails but we’ll be taking the quick .6 mile loop around Sibley Pond (we won’t be walking the entire loop of course). Located on the pond is a wooden dock, which makes for some great waterfront photos. Alternatively, there are more wooded areas around the lake that would make for some good photos.

There are roughly 25 parking spaces located at this trail but I have yet to encounter issues with parking, and that’s saying something as I drive a pickup truck. This trail isn’t as congested with people either so it’s becoming a quick favorite of mine.

🐾 Marietta Square

Address: 99 S Park Square NE, Marietta, GA 30060

If you’re a Marietta resident, you know exactly what to expect from the square.
The square is bustling with life and shops, some dog friendly. Our main focus will be at the fountain in the middle of the square and some of the murals. The biggest downside to this location is that parking can be a challenge. Parking locations include street parking up to 2 hours, the parking deck at 205 Lawrence Street which offers free public parking on weekends and weekdays from 5:00 PM to 7:30 AM, and various parking lots (the main one being 25 Mill St). This location is great on Tuesday afternoons and is great for adding a bit of city to our photos.

📍Smyrna

🐾 Heritage Park

Address: 1-167 Concord Rd SW, Smyrna, GA 30082

This is one of Smyrna’s most charming hidden gems for pet photography. With its shaded trails, trickling creek, and historic mill ruins, it offers the perfect mix of nature and nostalgia. The iconic covered bridge adds a timeless touch to portraits, while the surrounding woods provide peaceful, soft light that flatters every furry face. Whether you’re capturing a playful adventure or a quiet, emotional goodbye, this location brings a storybook feel to every session, especially stunning in the fall when the leaves turn golden. Just keep in mind: dogs must be leashed, and weekday mornings are ideal for avoiding crowds.

📍Kennesaw

🐾 Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park

Address: 900 Kennesaw Mountain Dr, Kennesaw, GA 30152

This iconic spot is a stunning and historic location for pet photography, offering over 17 miles of scenic trails, open meadows, and panoramic mountain views. Whether you’re looking for majestic wide shots with your pup overlooking the treetops or quiet forest paths for more intimate portraits, this park delivers natural beauty in every direction. Its mix of open skies, tall grasses, and wooded trails makes it perfect for dogs of all ages, especially those who enjoy a bit of adventure. Please note that there is a small parking fee (typically $5/day or $40/year), and dogs must remain on leash at all times. For a peaceful experience with great lighting, I recommend booking sessions on weekday mornings or late afternoons.

💡 Quick Tips

  • Leashes are required at all times. I can edit out leashes for the most part, so don’t worry.
  • Bring water for your pup (and yourself) —some locations lack fountains outside dog-specific areas.
  • For peaceful sessions with minimal distraction, try scheduling for Tuesday mornings.
